We did so much stuff in Vietnam, so where do I even start? We went on a tour in a bunch of caves and temples. It was called Marble Mountain. We went in one cave that said a bunch of stuff that would happen to you in your afterlife if you were bad in this life. You don’t even want to know the things they said would happen because they were a little traumatizing. Like if you lie, your tongue gets cut out. Eesh.

We went to another one called Monkey Mountain and I was a little scared because I’m a little scared of monkeys. It was different than in Bali because there weren’t as many monkeys and the ones in Bali had tattoos because they weren’t wild like the Vietnam monkeys.

We went to a bamboo circus. They balanced on bamboo and stuff. It was very cool. You weren’t allowed to take pictures during the show, only before and after.

There was a beach we went to called Barefoot Beach. It was a nice beach but the waves were very big. My dad was throwing me about ten feet in the air into the waves. It was awesome!

There was a cafe there where we played d&d and they had two kittens, one was named Sugar, but I forgot the other one. There also was a dog named Boo there and apparently I was the only one that it liked.

We went to a theme park called Da Nang downtown. It was very good.

There was also another theme park called VinWonder. I did a junior zookeeper thing where I got to stay at a zoo, feed animals, clean up their poop, and even hold some animals. My favorite one was a baby goat. They put on a water show at the end that was very good.

We went to another place called Ba Na Hills that had a little amusement park place. There were these roller coasters called alpine coasters. The lady in front of us went very slow so we didn’t get to go fast except at the very beginning. They had one of the longest gondolas in the world there that we rode. There was also games like giant Jenga, chess, air hockey, foosball, ring toss, and others. There were also giant stick bugs up there! We saw a show with dancing and music too.

We went to a cooking class, a basket boat ride, and made lanterns. I made a Chinese lantern that was yellow and red, those stand for luck and happiness. The cooking class was fun and we made a meal together. My favorite thing that we made was a famous Hoi An soup called cao lao. The basket boats were fun. While we were on it, there were people in red and white boats that were spinning the around really fast. We also caught some crabs and put them in baskets, but then we released them.

We had a driver in Vietnam and his wife owned a clothes shop. I got a couple clothes from there. The ladies at the shops really liked me. They called me handsome and asked for me to go hoe with them and be their son-in-law. I told them no, I have to go with my family and I still want to visit other countries. Also, I’m seven!

We went on a boat ride and released lanterns onto the water. We got to make a wish for each lantern.

We went to another temple that used to be a military base called My Son. That means beautiful mountains. That was really cool. The Americans bombed it and we got to see the bomb craters that were still there. 50 buildings exploded when the bombs were dropped. This was a long time ago, it did NOT happen while I was there.
Vietnam was really fun.
