Birthday week!

Cambodia has been my very favorite place we’ve gone to. A lot of the people, (despite not being the most developed country), speak amazing English and they’re all very sweet. I was a little nervous about Cambodia because I knew I was going to have to share a room with all four of my siblings, but it wasn’t too bad. (And there was a cat, which always helps!)

(We named him Stump!)

We did a bunch of stuff in Cambodia, mostly because we had four different birthdays there. (Wren’s- 5th, Nora’s- 8th, Terrell’s- 9th, and Mine- 10th) For Wren’s birthday we went to a wildlife conservation center and the APOPO Rat place, which is giant African rats that they train to sniff out TNT. (Because landmines are a huge problem in Cambodia) The rats were definitely giant, and freaking adorable!

The wildlife conservation was just a zoo/aquarium with happier animals. I really liked the sharks and sunbears.

For Nora’s birthday we went to a butterfly park and a different wildlife conservation center! This time Lucky and Eliasz (and their moms!) came with us. The butterfly park was freaking gorgeous.

The wildlife conservation that we went to for Nora’s birthday was cool, but I don’t think it was as cool as the one we went to for Wren’s birthday, but Nora didn’t seem to mind.

For Terrell’s birthday, we went and explored some of the temples. My favorite was the jungle temple. (Which is where Tomb Raider was filmed!)

Mom and Terrell went back to the temples after birthday week to explore without children.

For my birthday, we went to a cat cafe and an inflatable water park thing. Lucky came to both, but Eliasz broke his wrist rollerblading, so he only came to the cat cafe.

This technically isn’t part of birthday week, but I was invited to go with Lucky and Eliasz (and their moms, of course) to a queer center type place, which was kind of like the place I’d go back home, it made me happy that there’s a place like that for the Khmer people.
