The food in Thailand was mostly meat and rice. I didn’t like that very much because it was a lot the same. I did like the mango sticky rice. It is sticky rice with mangoes on top and then coconut cream poured on it.

We went to a lot of temples in Thailand. My favorite one was on top of a tall hill with a glass walkway that was really high up. I could see really far all around and beneath me. Inside the temple, they were painting it. On the ceiling there were pictures of a bunch of gods, I think. In the middle was a golden shrine. A shrine is a statue or place where people offer things to the gods and pray.

We also went to a blue temple, a red and white temple, and a completely white temple. It was a long drive in a van to get to those temples because they were in a different city than us. My favorite one that day was the blue temple. The railings were snakes. Inside we got to see Buddhist people praying at a shrine.

We went to two places with elephants. The first one was an elephant sanctuary. We got to feed the elephants bananas and pumpkins. They didn’t like the pumpkins too much but they loved the bananas. We had to peel the bananas for the baby elephant. He was very cute, but we had to be careful because he almost stepped on our feet. He was a very big baby and may not have known how big he really was.

The second place with elephants was with a hill tribe that owned elephants. There was a pregnant elephant. I felt her belly and the baby moving inside! There were more elephants that were more trained at this place. We got to swim with them and clean them. I had a bowl to fill with water and splashed it onto the elephants. I splashed some of the people too! The elephants filled their trunks with water and sprayed me back. We fed them bamboo.
